There are programs called database management systems for data, abbreviated DBMS, to store and subsequently access data quickly and structured. The properties of these DBMS and its use and administration, are studied within the field of computing.

The most common applications are for the management of companies and public institutions. They are also widely used in scientific environments in order to store the experimental data.

Database Models
In addition to classification by function of the databases, they can also be classified according to their data management model.

A data model is basically a "description" of something known as a container of data (something where information is stored), and methods to store and retrieve information from these containers. Data models are not physical things: they are abstractions that allow the implementation of an efficient database, generally refers to algorithms and mathematical concepts.

Hierarchical databases
Main article: Hierarchical Database
These are databases which, as its name suggests, store their information in a hierarchical structure. In this model data is organized in a manner similar to a tree (seen upside down), where a parent node of information can have several children. The node has no parent is called root, and nodes without children are known as leaves.

The hierarchical databases are especially useful for applications that handle a large volume of information and data sharing allows very stable structures and high performance.

A major limitation of this model is its inability to efficiently represent data redundancy.

Network Database

This is the model currently used to model real problems and manage data dynamically. After being nominated its foundation in 1970 by Edgar F. Codd, IBM laboratory in San Jose (California), was soon established as a new paradigm in the model database. His basic idea is the use of "relationships". These relationships could logically be considered as sets of data called "tuples". Although this is the theory of relational databases created by Codd, most of the time is conceptualized in a more easy to imagine. This is thinking in every relationship as if it were a table that consists of records (rows in a table), which represent tuples, and fields (the columns of a table).

In this model, where and how they store data are not relevant (unlike other models such as the hierarchical and network). This has the considerable advantage of being easier to understand and use for an occasional user of the database. Information can be retrieved or stored through "consultations" that offer a wide flexibility and power to manage information.

The most common language to build queries to relational databases is SQL, or Structured Query Language Structured Query Language, a standard implemented by the main engine management systems or relational databases.

Multidimensional Databases

Documentary Databases

Deductive databases
A system of deductive database is a database system but with the difference that can make inferences through inferences. It is based mainly on rules and facts that are stored in the database. Deductive databases are also called logical database, following which is based on mathematical logic.

Engineering and Technological Innovation: IMETI 2010
Engineering activities are based on the development of new Knowledge (scientia), new 'made things' (techné) and/or new ways of working and doing (praxis). Scientia, Techné and praxis are three important dimensions of a comprehensive conception of Engineering as a whole. Engineering, as Scientia, is mostly developed in academia; as techné is practiced in industry generating technological innovations; and as praxis is carried out in technical and non-technical organizations, supporting managerial activities and technical procedures, via methodical and methodological design and implementation. This is why Engineering provides one of the most solid academic and professional substrata for bridging among Universities, industries and governments.
Publications and conferences related to Engineering are usually oriented to one of its three dimensions. While this is an adequate thing to do when disciplinary focus is sought, it does not represent Engineering as a whole and it misses the very important synergic relationships among the three kinds of engineering activities mentioned above. This is why a group of scholars, professionals and consultants, in the field of engineering, considered the possibility of initiating a publishing process and organizing a conference where presentations will not be reduced to one of the Engineering's dimensions, but to foster the participation of academics, practitioners and managers in the three dimensions of Engineering, in the same conference, or in the same publication, so they can synergistically interact with each other. FACEBOOK UPDATES FOR ANDROID


Users of Google's mobile operating system was having problems in recent months because Android had trouble with support for their own applications. Systems engineering is the application of the mathematical and physical sciences to develop systems that use economically the materials and forces of the nature for the benefit of the humanity.

For that reason, a critical and analytical exposition of a qualitative study based on a bibliographical and documentary investigation appears, sustained in the contributions of the approach of Science, Technology and Sociedad (CTS) in the education (CyTE) to explain the entailment of the development of the tecnocientífico knowledge in the local societies. Finally, it is concentrated in the planning as a tool of entailment of CyT and in the education as agent supplier of enabled human resources in the use of the technologies, since its multiplying effect affects the technological development and the scientific research in any country. An operating system (OS) is software that acts as an interface between hardware devices and the user. It is responsible for managing, coordinating and implementing resource sharing one computer. In order to correct the propensity to the described emigration of personnel the Venezuelan State, through its institutions, must understand first east phenomenon and know the magnitude he himself, to be able to act consequently with strategies, programs and instruments that tend to revert this process. A factor that plays against the implantation of any scientific policy in Venezuela is the present limitation of the State and the Venezuelan society due to the existing conjuncture. This causes that any measurement is cuts and has little impact. Consequently, we make some recommendations that aim to provide elements to know the phenomenon the recent emigration of scientists and Venezuelan technologists and establish strategies to quantify it. The first recommendation goes directed to that years, oriented take advantage of the initiatives made in Venezuela in the last to quantify the emigration of scientists and technologists. The Ministry of Science and Technology would have to coordinate and to operate the greater amount of information possible later to standardize it in a data base that can be updated permanently. Such data base would contribute elements to measure the international mobility of the scientists and Venezuelan technologists. Additionally diagnoses by areas, ages, sex, country of residence, institution can be made where the emigrant toils and other variables that allow to have a map near the reality in this matter. They are possible to be applied to strategies such as the creation of nodes by countries where an important concentration of Venezuelans exists, creation of virtual thematic networks, involution and reorientation of the programs from visits to the country. When counting on the information in line of these scientists, the same one could be used of multiple forms, as they are it supplies of work, to require its remote capacity, consultant's offices and consultancies. The second recommendation goes directed to solve a fundamental problem of the institutions of the system of Science and Venezuelan Technology, like it is to give value it to the administrative information that it takes place in them and of turning it a strategic tool for the efficient decision making. This would allow to orient the policies with greater certainty, the knowledge of the supply possibilities would create better opportunities of work when having and demand in the institutions and analyses with base could be made in organized and updated information. Also it would help to plan the budgets adapted for Science and Technology, to medium and long term, and to more effectively affect the diminution of the emigration of scientists and technologists.
